Certified by the American Society for the Alexander Technique (AmSAT)

Integrate awareness into your life

Alexander Technique (AT) is a structured, personalized way of becoming more aware of how your mind and body affect one another, in stillness and in movement. In an AT lesson, you will practice everyday activities—sitting, standing, walking, etc—with the guidance of your teacher. Your teacher will provide non-judgmental assessment of your movement patterns and gently guide you into healthier, more effective patterns.

Allow yourself to change

Using Alexander Technique, you will learn to use your body in an easier way, in every type of daily movement. You will learn to recognize and change harmful habits that may be causing you discomfort or creating physical and mental stress.

Discover benefits to yourself as a whole

Over time, the process of learning and applying the principles of Alexander Technique can lead to a reduction or elimination of pain, a greater sense of comfort in one’s body, better posture, and more ease and enjoyment of the activities of daily life. Alexander Technique can also instill a feeling of calmness and well-being, as well as improve mood and self-confidence. Read more on research into the benefits of Alexander Technique here →

Come as you are. Almost anyone can benefit from studying Alexander Technique, whatever your age or activity level. Alexander Technique is safe, supportive, and tailored to each individual student.

My work with Elizabeth has made me more aware of how I hold and carry my body in space. Elizabeth helped me make small adjustments to both my posture and my thought processes, which have had a positive affect on my health and stress levels.
— Linn, teacher
It was amazing to me how much a tiny adjustment to how I stand could make such a big difference in how I felt. I now use what she taught me every day at work, and it has helped tremendously with my lower back pain.
— Chris, software engineer
Elizabeth is a kind, encouraging, and thoughtful teacher. She uses the traditional principles and tools of AT to cultivate positive, psychophysical changes. My movements feel lighter and easier, and I generally experience more peace and have a renewed sense of optimism. With her help, I have a better idea of how to promote these things for myself and manage my energy more effectively.
